Committee Members Wanted- Deadline tomorrow June3/16

The following email was sent to all work locations in hard copy. Although we sent this out via E-blast a few months back, we have extended the deadline to make sure everyone was aware and had an opportunity to apply. When on a committee, you will receive paid release time when needed, and all mileage and expenses covered where applicable. If you filled out an application form and sent it in the last time it was sent out, there is no need to re-apply.

Dear CUPE 5555 member:

In an effort to build a stronger local union, we are looking for increased member involvement. We have many positions that we would like to fill, and give you, the member, an opportunity to apply if interested.

I have provided a list of committees/positions we are looking to fill and have attached an application form below. If applying for more than one position, I would kindly ask that you fill out a separate application form for each one. Application submissions on anything other than the application form will not be accepted and withdrawn from consideration.
(Deadline for submissions: JUNE 3, 2016)

Committee work is a vital part of our union and we appreciate your interest. We do however ask that when applying, you keep in mind that union committees/positions are not an avenue to bring forth personal agendas and your conduct and views must adhere to the mandate set out by the local.

I would like to take a moment to thank all past committee members and highly encourage them to submit an application form if they wish to be considered to sit on the committee once again.

In solidarity,

Ron Maguire
