Introduction of union card and launch of new website
Dear CUPE 5555 member
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new website at www.cupe5555.ca. It is packed full of information and resources that we hope will be a benefit to all members.
Please let us know what you think by taking the poll on the home page, and send us an email if there is anything you would like to see added.
Along with this launch we are introducing our CUPE 5555 membership card. This is a dual purpose card that will not only identify who you are with an individual union number and bar code but can also be used for discounts at area participating businesses.
Businesses participating in our exclusive CUPE 5555 membership discount program, can be found on our website under “Discount Program” heading. If you know of a local business owner who may wish to participate by giving a discount, please direct them to our website under the heading “Discount Program” and then click on “business application form”. The business does not have to be unionized, but they do need to be union friendly and treat their employees fairly.
Your CUPE 5555 membership card will be needed to gain entrance to any union meeting held starting February 1, 2015. To receive your card, you must fill out and return the” Union Membership Card Application Form “. This form can be found on our website under the heading “Union Card”.
You can send your completed form to the office via mail, board courier, or scan to email. Once we receive your application we will send you your card.
We have been working hard on your behalf and are looking at propelling our union to another level. The support has been great in the last few years and this is evident with the number of members asking to get involved. The more support we have the stronger we will become.
