CUPE 5555 donated to the fund set up for CCI student Jayden to help with travel expenses to the Canadian Nationals

Imagine having to manage your daily life with an anxiety disorder. Imagine discovering you have the talent and skill to be a national champion. Imagine not having the means to get to the Championships…

Jayden is a grade 10 Grafton resident and member of the Kawartha Olympic Wrestling Club. She recently represented our community at OFSAA in Windsor and at the OAWA Provincials she earned a spot at the Canadian Nationals in Calgary, Alberta. Through it all she has maintained academic success in school and dealt with anxiety every day.

We are the Kaitlyn Bates Initiative, an association dedicated to developing self-esteem in young people. What we all see in Jayden is someone who has what it takes to be the best she can be (perhaps the best in the country)! She just needs a little support for fees, travel and accomodations – and we can easily provide it with your help!

You can help us raise this money in the next couple of weeks. There are already many of us in the community who know about Jayden. But, we also need your help to get the word out and show your moral support! Please make whatever contribution you can and share this campaign with your friends. Let’s show this incredible young woman that she belongs at the

CUPE 5555 donated to the gutsy walk for crohns and colitis

CUPE 5555 supported CMHA-Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge/Team55 Tackles Suicide Awareness made up of 5 Peterborough Petes players who got “mullet” haircuts to raise money and awareness  for the Canadian Mental Health Association.
